AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL WHO WOULD LISTEN

I certainly did not see this one coming, even after four years of inciteful language and divisive rhetoric from this nation’s leader.

In the first week of 2021, we had 147 Republican members of Congress attempt to disenfranchise the votes of 82 million Americans while a group of insurrectionists bent on destruction, and at the direction of the President of the United States, breached the US Capitol building. All at the same time.

Sedition Caucus: The 147 Republicans Who Voted to Overturn the 2020 Election Results

Those same Republicans, now appropriately known as the Sedition Caucus, blatantly ignored our Constitution by objecting to certified electoral…

On July 3, in front of Mount Rushmore, Trump claimed that “far-left fascism,” which “demands absolute allegiance,” is in being taught in our schools and that our children are taught “to hate their own country and to believe that men and women who built it were not heroes but that were villains.”

A couple of weeks later, President Trump tweeted the following: “Too Many Universities and School Systems are about Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education. Therefore, I am telling the Treasury Department to re-examine their Tax-Exempt Status and/or Funding, which will be taken away if this Propaganda or Act Against…

Georgia prison with ICE detainees performs questionable hysterectomies, shreds coronavirus records: nurse

A nurse at a Georgia ICE Detention Center reports mass hysterectomies performed on women who didn’t understand what was happening. This is beyond horrific.

Make no mistake: This is the use of for-profit prisons for eugenics — an inhumane treatment of human beings.

The removal of children and forced sterilization of human beings is genocide according to the UN. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time America has committed such acts, from the treatment of Boricua, the Tuskegee Study, and Margaret Sanger to today. This is nothing new.

On May 6, the United States Postal Service Board of Governors — all of whom are Trump appointees — selected Louis DeJoy, who has no experience at the USPS, to the position of Postmaster General.

The USPS, which is supposed to be apolitical, now has at its helm someone with many conflicts of interest. DeJoy was a top donor to Trump and the Republican National Committee, giving more than $2 million since 2016. And before accepting this position, he headed up fundraising for the 2020 Republican National Convention. DeJoy is the former CEO of New Breed Logistics, which has contracted…

Georgia Educators Have Sacrificed Enough

While Georgia schools (K-12) begin their academic year on August 11th, most school districts are still struggling to decide how they are going to open.

Will they use on-line learning only, in-class learning, or a hybrid of the two?

Many of the metro Atlanta districts sent out a questionnaire to parents earlier this summer asking which method they preferred. But that was prior to seeing an unprecedented spike in COVID-19 case numbers across the state.

Most districts and parents are tasked with making a critical decision with little guidance while resolving mixed and contradictory messages…

Habersham County’s Mountain Lakes Medical Center is a vital resource for the region.

One of the priorities of my campaign is to ensure that Americans living in rural communities have access to much needed healthcare in their area. The fastest way to guarantee that would be to immediately pass legislation similar to HR 2957, the Save Rural Hospitals Act, a bipartisan bill that never made it out of committee since its introduction in 2017. When I am elected as your Congressman, I am committed to advancing legislation that’s good for the Ninth District and to working across the aisle when it makes sense.

Over 160 rural hospitals across the nation have closed in…

A letter from Susan Kuebler, member of the Devin Pandy for Congress Campaign Team

Siskin compares her legal troubles to the experiences of the late Rep. John Lewis during the Atlanta Press Club Debate on July 19th, 2020.

When the news broke recently that you were ordered to spend four days in jail for defying a court order, Devin felt a message of support for your well-being was in order and responded with what I believed to be a compassionate and respectful message for your situation. We all make mistakes, and he hoped you might have learned from and internalized the situation.

But Brooke, honey, from everything I have seen and heard from you…

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman side by side with his Purple Heart certificate

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is an American patriot. Having been awarded the Purple Heart is a testament to his courage on the battlefield.

As a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army, I thank him for his service.

As an American, I applaud his courage to comply with a lawful subpoena and testify truthfully before Congress about his knowledge of President Trump’s “perfect call” with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

During his testimony, he told his dad “not to worry” because this was America. But as soon as President Trump was acquitted by the GOP-led Senate, Lt. Col. …

Each year, thousands of people visit the U.S. Capitol Building including the impressive Hall of Statues that leads from Rotunda into the chambers of the House of Representatives. Each state may present two statues for display. While there is insufficient space to display all the statues, the others are placed in prominent places throughout the Capitol Building.

One of the most interesting ones is Will Rogers. Widely known for his sense of humor and wit, when Rogers was told that his home state of Oklahoma wanted to put up a statue in his honor his only request was “Just put…

Today, 21-Year Combat Veteran and Candidate for Georgia’s 9th Congressional District, Devin Pandy, endorsed Teresa Tomlinson’s campaign for United States Senate in the upcoming primary. Pandy’s statement is below.

“Now, more than ever, it is vital that we vote our values, so I’ll be voting for Mayor Teresa Tomlinson for US Senate in Georgia’s June 9th primary election. Teresa is an effective advocate for voting rights, economic opportunity, as well as gender and racial equity. I especially appreciate Mayor Tomlinson’s thoughtful willingness to listen to subject-matter experts and her constituency. She seeks out new ideas and different perspectives, weighs the…
